Stewart has worked on many EPBD projects
Our role is to advise what will
give you the best return over the
whole lifecycle of a building’s
plant and equipment.

Stewart T Conway

 

Stewart is a qualified professional building surveyor with over 30 years experience, a Fellow of the Energy Institute, and formerly a Carbon Trust accredited energy auditor.

 

He has worked as part of a sustainability team and led on energy ratings relating to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) - energy auditing in public and private sectors. During that time he was responsible producing Display Energy Certificates and Commercial Energy Performance Certificates for 6 Local Authorities

 

Stewart has considerable experience issuing energy ratings both with Energie Cités Display® software and now with the ORCalc / iSBEM suite of software for producing Display Energy Certificates and Commercial Energy Performance Certificates, as required under the EPBD. He has also worked with DEFRA, AEA technology and the European Commission on the next stages of EPBD and labelling of fans, motors, pumps and circulators here in UK & Europe.

Whilst working for Leicester Energy Agency he was a European Project Officer and Team Leader with extensive experience working with local authorities within the UK and Europe.

 

He was also Project Lead, coordinating stakeholder engagements and consultation.

 

In 2007 Stewart completed a European Intelligent Metering project looking at energy savings from intelligent metering and behavioural change with Leicester City Council and partners in Austria Germany and Denmark, which looked at the effect of training and intelligent metering on energy consumption for municipal buildings. (Energy savings from intelligent metering and behavioural change in local and regional public sector buildings - ECEEE 2007 Summer Study – saving Energy Just Do It - Webber / Conway / Patel / Fleming).

 

He has carried out energy audits for The Carbon Trust. He also has a wide range of experience in working with industrial buildings, Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and householders at a domestic level.

 

Stewart has carried out extensive project management of national and European projects.

 

Currently accredited as Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) & Display Energy Certificate (DEC) Assessor, involved with the tendering and production of certification for a number of public authorities, he has issued more than 300 reports / certificates.

 

Major Achievements:

  • Managing a European Union funded project (Leicester Energy Agency) and ensuring the continuation of the Leicester Energy Agency  when European funding finished (1996)
  • Managing the UK Home Energy Conservation Act (HECA) Fora Secretariat
  • Being appointed Company Secretary of UK Home Energy Conservation Association
  • Formerly European Project Coordinator for the Intelligent Metering project funded by the EU through the 'Energy Intelligent Europe' programme
  • Formerly European Project Coordinator for the aIM4SME’s (automatic Intelligent Metering for Small to Medium Enterprises) project funded by the EU through the 'Energy Intelligent Europe' programme
  • Managed the East Midlands SME Energy Efficiency Advice Centre as part of the national Action Energy campaign
  • Managed the East Midlands Community Renewables Initiative.
  • Led negotiations for a contract to manage the Energy User Cruiser for the Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme and DEFRA and thus increasing the utilisation and profile of the Energy User Cruiser throughout the UK.
  • Developed and managed a two year programme of giving advice to SMEs around the UK utilising the “Energy Cruiser” creating networks and building up contacts.
  • Managing the Leicester City Council ‘Electric Energy Advice Bus’ project
